Red Light, Green Light

Overview

A browser Red Light, Green Light: move forward while the teacher counts “One, Two, Three” with their back turned; freeze when they turn around. Pick cute animal characters, 20 rounds, vs CPU or two players on one device.

Basic rules

• Each round you have 20 seconds to reach the finish; in vs-CPU mode, running out of time ends the run.
• Each player has 3 hearts. Moving on red costs one heart; at zero hearts you are out.
• Vs CPU: beat the CPU to the line (or outlast them) to advance; clear all 20 rounds to win. Lose if the CPU wins the race first, you run out of hearts, or other fail states apply.
• Two players: 20 races; each race goes to whoever crosses first. After 20 races, most wins takes the match (ties possible).

Title screen · Menu

• Tap the mode bar, tap head icons to choose characters (CPU picks its own animal in vs-CPU).
• Tap Start or press Space.
• After win/lose, press Space or tap the canvas to return to the title screen.

In game · Movement

Only hold your move control during the 1-2-3 count; release or stay still on red.

• Vs CPU: hold W or hold the lower half of the canvas.
• Two players: P1 — W or lower left half; P2 — ↑ or lower right half.
• Switching away from the tab clears held keys.

Sound and accessibility

The teacher speaks the count in English via the browser’s speech synthesis; caught/clear events may also use voice and Web Audio where allowed.
